Well, September this year seemed to be very much a continuation of the summer weatherwise….until we planned our first face to face reunion for 3 years! Cue a drop in temperature, wind and rain and a national train strike in London for the weekend of our meet-up. Cold and very wet, I arrived at about 5.45 and sent a message on the Facebook group that I was already at the George and Monkey and was very happy that within fifteen minutes people began to arrive. So, our spread of graduating classes was from the 90’s through to the newest Alumni from this year and the happy “hour” ran from about 6.00 until around 9.30. There was a very noisy birthday party in the room next door to ours and so we spread to the outside under the awnings with some good connections made between the new arrivals, both 2021 and 22 classes meeting our older alumni who are either in work on the latter stages of university studies, amongst these were, Robert Olatilu, Edgar Ward who is a sculptor, check out his website for a look, Daumantas Kreivys, Simon Craig, Caitlin Hoffman, William Simmonds and Eloise Lennen Rodriguez who apologised for not filling in the RSVP and as you can see from the photos, insisted on buying her own Champagne! Thank you all for coming.

October and our Paris reunion was on October 20 at the Cafe Cayo in the 13me . Again, barmy weather lulled us into a false sense of security and for consistency we were also dealing with industrial action on the trains! So, just like in London the heavens opened, the thunder and lightning added to its drama and, as I sat outside under the awning (again!), I awaited the arrival of alumni. The rain did not deter a punctual arrival by a somewhat damp Damian Kerr and Cyrille Lavallé deeply concerned that she would be the one to be struck by the lightning. However, the rain and thunder did deter some alumni from venturing accross town, you know who you are! Erica Moyer had travelled over from the US and had met up with her parents and that Eloise Lennen Rodriguez turned up again! It was great to see Mariam Laperashvili on her way through from the Cannes Television Festival as she now works for Channel 2(Stöð 2) in Iceland. Last to arrive was Toshinobu Sasazu who came to visit us at school earlier in the day as he is currently spending some time in France.

Please feel free to pass on your pics of the event and we can add them to the gallery!
