Introducing Antoine Delaitre our incoming Head of School

David Henry and Antoine Delaitre

The ISP Board of Trustees, leadership team and school community are delighted to announce that the next Head of School starting July 2024 will be Antoine Delaitre. Antoine will succeed David Henry, who will retire from ISP after nearly thirty years as an international school educator and leader.

In ISP’s search to find the most exceptional leader to guide our school and community, we engaged in an international recruitment process that yielded incredible talent from across the globe. Guided by our vision, mission and guiding statements, and our strategic plan, we sought a Head of School who could lead ISP’s strategic development; attract, develop and retain the highest quality faculty and staff; effectively communicate ISP’s story to our community and the broader world; further strengthen our diverse community; ensure student and community-wide wellbeing; and elevate student achievement and development at ISP.  Antoine Delaitre embodies all of these qualities and more, bringing a wealth of experience, professionalism and a profound commitment to excellence.

As we embark on this exciting new chapter in our school’s journey, we embrace this opportunity to extend both a warm welcome to Antoine and a heartfelt thank you to David for his leadership at ISP.

Next time you’re in Paris, do check out our new signage.

6 rue Beethoven, which has been home to ISP since 1985, previously had signage in this location (see below). For the short history, “l’Ecole Beethoven” was acquired by the Union Centrale des Arts Décoratifs in 1922  and became “Ecole et atelier d’art pour jeunes filles”.

A large objective with this project was to inspire ourselves from the past, all whilst aligning the historical context of the building with our school history and, of course, to provide a modern feel!

Thanks to Stephane Aubert (designer), without whom this collaboration would not have been possible.

Careers Day 2024

Many thanks once again this year to our Alumni for giving their time for this annual event. We used a different format this year as we had participants from Bolivia, Austria and France. They held a panel Q and A offering their perspectives on how the IB experience and challenges may have prepared them for their careers and the importance of both international-mindedness and intercultural understanding are in their respective fields. Our panel is pictured below. Great job!

There's a little more about Dora below.

If you are keen to share your academic/professional journey, please
consider volunteering your time at our annual ISP Career Day. Feel free to contact us at alumnisphere@isparis.net

Alumni updates

Dora Bobanovic, Class of 2017

After my time at ISP, I completed a BSc at Maastricht University in their Science Programme and then continued my studies in Madrid at IE University, where I completed a Master's in International Development. Throughout my studies, I worked part-time for a YouTube channel called 'Yes Theory,' where I was a community manager for almost 5 years. After graduating in July 2023, I decided to pursue a career in sustainability within the private sector. I moved to Salzburg (Austria) to work at the ALDI SÜD HOLDING headquarters in their sustainability business unit, where I'm focusing on our non-food products' supply chains.

It was only when I left ISP that I realised the impact it made on my life. In terms of university workload, I was very well prepared in terms on work ethic and organising my time. You could clearly see that other students who didn’t do the IB didn’t have the same set of skills making their transition much more difficult. ISP also thought me how to approach problems from a multidisciplinary approach and how to question the status quo. This approach led me wanting to have a similar environment in my undergraduate and graduate degrees because I thrived in that type of environment compared to a traditional style of education.

Jason Surakka, Class of 2022.

Jason will be interning at the U.S. Embassy in Helsinki from May until early September.

Do you have any "news" that you would like to share?

Even if it is just a check in it would be great to hear from you...

Where you are, what you're doing and of course a picture is always welcome.

Or, if anyone would like to send us a memory or experience from their time at ISP let us know and  please send it our way! alumnisphere@isparis.net,  or directly on our alumni website https://alumni.isparis.edu/home

Looking forward to hearing  from you!

ISP Yearbooks

Mme Marie Martine with her class in1983 (probably!) Thanks to Anne Patterson for posting the photo

We are in the process of sending our yearbooks to be scanned so that we can share them on the website. Unfortunately we only have yearbooks from 1984 onwards. Having read through it seems like this could be the first one but would love to hear from Alumni who may know of earlier yearbooks or school photographs.

ISP Voices

We would very much like your participation in developing an initiative we have called "ISP Voices". We would love for you to share your stories and your experiences from your time at ISP and how that may have shaped your futures.  You are all part of the ISP story and we would love to share your memories.

ISP formed the foundation for my love of physics which has taken me across the world. It allowed me to open my eyes to a new way of learning and changed the way in which I viewed the student teacher relationship. Moreover it allowed me to explore and learn about the world without putting any restriction and limitation.

Archis Anupam Mohapatra Class of 2012 Attended ISP Grades 5-7

I moved back to Paris for my last year, 12th Grade, coming directly from Amsterdam (ISA) where I started the IB in 11th Grade. The move was not easy because the IB usually requires that one stays in the same school for the 2 yrs of 11 & 12th Grade. The move was indeed not easy, but thanks to the great help of Mr Kerr particularly, I managed to catch up pretty quickly on most subjects. I made friends very easily and was warmly welcome and integrated into the class. Lots of nice memories with a very international community!

Sophie Rudloff - Nadolny Class of 2005

ISP plays such an integral role in the person I’ve become today. In a vast diverse environment everyone was inclusive irrespective of their gender, religion and culture.
From all the schools I’ve studied around the world, ISP has left a mark in my heart. I’ll forever be grateful for everything I learnt and for all the experiences I’ve had.
